December 31, 2017

Happy New Year, everyone! I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support throughout 2017, and to give you a peek at what lies ahead for 2018. It looks to be a very good year!

For starters, I have one local appearance scheduled on January 12 at Outlaw BBQ in Lawton, OK. It's a small room but always a great time, and it may be a little while before I get back to Lawton, so I hope you'll come on out!

On January 29, we set sail from New Orleans on the Jimmy Jack Foundation Cruise For Kids II! We'll be headed for Mexico with stops at Cozumel and Progreso. It's all to help the Jimmy Jack Foundation help kids reach their musical dreams by providing instruments, scholarships, and guidance. There's so much talent on this cruise that they didn't even have room for me on the bill! But I'll be playing a little and lending a hand to some rather famous people. If you'd like to join us, call Sherry at 615-822-8124 for info. Don't wait too long!

Upon my return from the cruise, things start to get real around here. I plan to significantly increase the amount of live shows I've been playing. You need not wait until I return to start booking; drop me a line and we'll set it up! I intend to improve my engagement on social media, so hop on board my Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages (links are here) to stay abreast of the latest happenings.

Now that I've had a couple of years to get a handle on home recording, I'll be embarking on an ambitious plan to release five albums in the next three years. The first one will be called Wanderlust, and will be primarily a collection of road songs. My old friend and bandmate Mark Minervino, who wrote I Just Wanna Be Left Alone Now from the Analog Soul album, is slated to produce Wanderlust. We plan to have it out sometime late in 2018. Among the other projects likely in the works are a Christmas album, and a resurrection of back catalog songs from the 1980s and 1990s.

All of this is wonderful, and I'm blessed to have the opportunity to do what I'm doing. But the one thing I'm most excited about for 2018 is a trip home to Portland, Maine in September. I'm looking forward to seeing some friends I haven't seen in over twenty years, and I plan to schedule some shows on the way out and on the way back. There will be more on this later in the year!

Once again, I appreciate the love and support you've shown throughout 2017, and look forward to many good things in the coming year. Speaking of good things, let's all make an extra effort to be good to each other.

Happy New Year!
